What is your all time favorite automobile?
I’m not a big fan of automobiles. Their purpose is to take people from one place to another, with comfort and safety. Whether it’s a well‑maintained used car or the latest Tesla model, both serve the same role. I’m not against style, elegance, or technological advances. Still, when we talk about astronomical figures for certain models, something feels off. Most of them are just for driving from home to work or to the supermarket. This discrepancy in our definition of transportation becomes clear in the suburbs of a big city.
If I have to mention a particular model for this daily post, my choice would be the classic Volkswagen Beetle. My first car in my twenties was a beautiful ’78 model made in Brazil. It broke down all the time. It ruined my day constantly. But it was my first car. With it, I commuted to university. I miss that old blue Beetle.
