What things give you energy?

Putting on my shoes or taking a cold shower

Let’s face it— as the years go by, it gets harder to summon the energy. Those 45 minutes of daily exercise seem more challenging. You’ve built habit and discipline over a lifetime. Despite this, the body feels an increasing pull toward the bed. It longs for the couch or that cozy hammock after a long day of work. One thing silences that wicked little voice. It whispers, “Hey, skip your workout today.” It’s my sneakers. Once they’re snug on my feet, the workout has begun—and there’s no turning back.

On the other hand, if the goal is to recharge for activities apart from exercise, a cold shower works instantly. It does the trick quickly.
