If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?
I have always thought that the age range for obtaining a driver’s license in many countries is too broad. An 18-year-old is not mentally or emotionally ready to drive, and likewise, after the age of 65, we lose many of the physical abilities necessary to drive without posing a risk.
For me, getting behind the wheel is like walking down the street with a loaded weapon. Just as it seems absurd to allow an 18-year-old to carry a firearm or to expect someone over 65 to maintain excellent aim, the age range for a driver’s license should be reduced to between 24 and 65 years. Before and after that age, permits should be issued in which responsibility is shared with another adult.
