What’s a secret skill or ability you have or wish you had?

I want to answer this question with a little turn. We all have a talent and it shouldn’t be a secret—something not everyone can do as well as we can. It is a talent for science, art, or politics. It can be public speaking, motivation, or simply the talent of staying out of trouble. Part of personal growth is discovering those talents and using them for good. When a talent helps us earn a living, we call it a profession. When we genuinely enjoy practicing it, we call it a passion.

As an IT engineer, I’ve spent 30 years navigating this world and have gained plenty of experience along the way. I consider it a talent I continue to forge and refine, something I keep learning from every single day. I can’t complain—it has served me well, and it has supported my family. This is my profession.

On the other hand, I love music and photography, and in both worlds I stay a constant learner. I practice, study, and experiment all the time. I’ve developed skills that grow stronger with the years. These are my passions—the things I love doing with intensity and dedication.

These talents have allowed me to grow as a human being. I still need to learn and discover more. There is still a long road ahead. Now it’s time to channel my talents toward serving others and helping those who need it. To give back what I’ve learned so far and to learn now by teaching. To use my talents so others can grow too. That is the purpose of the gifts we are fortunate to have.

“With great talents come great responsibilities,” the saying goes. And it’s true—our talents should help make this world a better place.
