Unlike many countries in the world, in my country voting is mandatory. The voting certificate is required for many public procedures, such as obtaining a driver’s license or a passport. In addition, people who do not vote without justification face fines that accumulate over time. There is no choice — voting is compulsory. This leads to many votes not being responsibly analyzed by most people. The vote tends to go to the most popular politicians or those who promise people an easy life.

Voting should not be mandatory. That is part of living in freedom and democracy.
