I remember that when I was a child, I couldn’t step on the tiles of any shower or bathtub with my bare feet. I remember I had to bathe wearing sandals or standing on a towel. It happened everywhere—at home, at a relative’s house, even in hotels. As I reached adolescence, that obsession slowly faded away.
