Recently I read The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. The novel tells the story of two sisters who must survive as ordinary women in occupied France during the 1940s. To do so, they even have to become spies and actively fight in the Resistance. The novel is very entertaining and well written. It would be interesting to have a second part that delves further into the story of these characters.
