The Total Lack of Ethics

We live in a society where even the most basic respect for others is fading. The end justifies the means. It doesn’t matter who I trample along the way, as long as I get what I want. Whether it’s my neighbor, my city, my country, or nature itself, nothing is off-limits. This mindset of “it’s not illegal, so I’m not doing anything wrong” is deeply rooted in our culture.

We witness examples of this every day. There is noise pollution in homes and neighborhoods. Some people do whatever they want with their pets. Many drive aggressively. Even how some choose to dress is striking, as if we needed free street performances. These actions are not always serious offenses. They are not even be technically illegal. Yet, they reveal a tendency to live on the edge without any sense of ethics. This lack of ethics undermines the very foundation of a healthy society.

Every time I hear people refer to these behaviors as normal, I feel concerned. In many cases, they even boast about them. When that happens, I feel the best thing to do is turn around and walk away.
