What is good about having a pet?
I’m not someone who’s used to being around pets, nor do I want to have them. I believe it’s not a decision to be made lightly or emotionally, but rather with rationality, intelligence, and responsibility.
I respect people who have pets. I recognize that they have every right to have as many pets as they want in their own home. I understand that one of the benefits of having a pet is the companionship. Additionally, many people love the feeling they get from being around animals. But I will never agree with or approve of those who impose their pets on my personal space. I shouldn’t have to listen to their howling at all hours or endure their smell invading my home. Even worse is seeing them roam the neighborhood without any supervision. I find that irresponsible and inconsiderate on the part of their owners.
I’ve noticed that more and more public places like shopping centers and restaurants are allowing pets. I respect their right to set their own admission policies. Personally, I choose not to frequent those places.
