With my family we truly enjoy weekend lunches. These are the days when we all make an effort to come together. We visit our grandparents as they are the heads of the family. The food my mother prepares is varied, and she usually chooses the menu. Everyone tries to contribute something, even if it’s just some cookies for dessert. In my family there’s a tradition of saying “little spoon,” which is our family’s way of signaling dessert is coming. My brother is never missing either, serving coffee as the final touch to an excellent meal—the best of the week.

It is the moment of greatest unity for our family.
