What colleges have you attended?

I can say that my university journey began when I was 18. After graduating from high school, I went to live in the United States for a year. I helped my relatives here and there with their different businesses. It was a good year—not only because I got to experience firsthand how tough life can be there, but also because I was able to put my English studies into practice.

When I returned to my country, I didn’t have a clear idea of what to study. I remember my father practically dragging me to the Universidad Politécnica, where he used his connections so I could enter late into the pre-admission period. I’ve never had academic problems, and after six months I was able to get into the university. However, the environment there wasn’t for me. I never liked the coldness of the campus or their study methodology.

After that experience, I tried my luck at the Universidad Católica where, after a few hurdles during the admission process, I finally got in. That’s where I spent five years and completed my degree in Computer Systems Engineering. I even had the opportunity to teach a few classes there some years later.

My university career isn’t over yet. I still need to pursue my master’s degree. So this story will continue…
