What advice would you give to your teenage self?

If I could go back in time and give some advice to my teenage self, I think it would be the next:

  • Listen to your parents; they will always know what is best for you.
  • Make the most of your 20s. Acquire as much knowledge, degrees, certifications, and skills as you can during those 10 years of your life. Travel, know other cultures and people. Don’t think about getting married or be a parent to early.
  • Learn about finance, investments, and how to properly manage your money. Make it a habit not to spend more than you earn, and to buy assets, not liabilities.
  • Learn to choose the right foods and to cook for yourself. Know yourself—what you should eat and what you shouldn’t. Be aware of the hereditary factors you carry.
  • Learn to fix things around the house, wash your own clothes, do shopping, live alone, and not depend on anyone.
  • Get used to exercising every day. Even if it’s just a 30-minute walk. What matters is the habit.
  • Read books every day. Finish one and start another. Don’t waste your time watching TV or on social networks.
  • Learn to meditate. You need to have faith in something. Believe, and be a spiritual person. Learn to listen to yourself.
  • The sooner you stop comparing yourself to others, the sooner you will start to grow individually.
