Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?

We watch with a sense of amazement. A group of kids on social media post content imitating their favorite animals. Some even dress up with masks, ears, and tails. I believe the intention behind today’s question is unrelated to therians. It simply invites us to think a little on the topic.

Nature has always fascinated us, and the animal world even more so. Humans have long wished to fly like birds, run like leopards, or swim like dolphins. Many of our most sophisticated technological inventions were inspired by animals. It’s understandable that certain groups of teenagers connect with their favorite animal. They search for a sense of belonging and spiritual connection. But that admiration should never surpass the admiration, recognition, and acceptance we owe ourselves as human beings. With our virtues and flaws, that is what we are — humans.

Personally, I’m not particularly devoted to animals. I don’t have pets at home, and for now I’m not interested in having any. I’m more of a fan of plants, roses, and a well‑kept garden. If I had to choose an animal to compare myself to, it would be the deer. I admire its majesty and its independence. It’s a creature of the open steppe, usually found in forests, mountains, mist, and cold places. An elegant and very reserved animal. It doesn’t easily move in herds, not even with its own kind. The nature of deer mirrors the way I live and the way I see my surroundings.
