I’m not a fan of watching the Olympic Games, not even the opening ceremony. I’m not really paying attention when the Games take place. I just know they happen every four years in a particular city. To some extent, they seem boring to me. USA and China are countries that have won the most medals in recent decades, and there are very few surprises.

The only events that interest me are the ones where athletes from my country, Ecuador, compete. They stand out in track and field events. Race walking, cycling, and weightlifting, where they’ve won some medals. It’s truly admirable when they win because they compete against everything, even the neglect of their own country.

The Olympic torch has interested me very little since I was a child. At least, it does not match the passion with which I enjoy a World Cup.
