Describe something you learned in high school.

I remember my high school years, between 1990 and 1992, as incredibly stressful for my age and at the same time the most fun I ever had.

New and more complex subjects. All kinds of teachers. More than one of us lived with the constant worry of failing demanding exams and ending up repeating the year. Academically, we learned a lot—though very little of it has been useful in adult everyday life.

On the other hand, I remember that time as the most enjoyable period of my life. Parties, fun, trips, good friends, and the best music ever made. Across every genre.

But something I began to learn during those three years, and that later became a habit in my university days, was my passion for music. In high school I started playing my first guitar chords, and I really got hooked. I had an old wooden guitar, and with it I learned the basics. In a time when the Internet didn’t exist, studying meant using manuals or heavy books.

High school was an unforgettable time.
