Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?
It’s usually not a good idea to look back on the past with regret. What’s done is done, and there’s no turning back. We have to learn the lessons, live in the present, and have faith in the future.
I believe the biggest mistake of my past was not fighting until my last breath to save my marriage. Every couple goes through problems, and my case was no exception. My ex‑wife, the mother of my children, and I made the friendly but painful decision to divorce. I feel that I should have fought harder, that I should have tried more things to solve our problems. I feel I gave up too quickly. I feel I should have looked for more opportunities to fix it.
However, many years have passed since that decision, and the past is behind me. My life today is different; my relationship with my ex‑wife is cordial. With my children, our bond couldn’t be stronger, and we love each other deeply. I learned many lessons, and that’s what truly matters when we look back.
On to what comes next…
