Emperor Palpatine has announced open elections for a new Emperor — and he’s nominated Darth Vader. You get to nominate one challenger.
Alright, let’s relax a bit and try to answer this daily prompt, which feels like one of the weaker ones. I lived through the Star Wars experience in the 70s, and like all kids my age, we enjoyed the story of a teenager who must face life head‑on and grow up by overcoming his own fears—even after the trauma of discovering his origins and learning who his real father is. I think the Star Wars universe should have ended in 1983, instead of becoming the endless soap opera of trilogies and movies that now serve as Disney’s flagship on its digital platform. The political side of the story has nothing to do with the original narrative, and it never interested me in the later installments of the saga.
I’ll stick with the characters, the story, the special effects, the space‑western atmosphere of the tale Lucas crafted in the 70s, and of course, John Williams’ incredible soundtrack.
