Four years ago, I made a promise. Not to look back—not even to gain momentum. All the good, the bad, and the ugly from my past were left behind. I want nothing and seek nothing from what once was. For me, the past does not exist.

Now I live fully in the present and prepare myself for whatever the future may bring. I have regained my faith, and I feel optimism for the years ahead. It is a promise I made to myself in the moment of deepest darkness in my life.

I give thanks to God for the strength and the light He places in my life each day.
