What’s the best local dish you’ve ever eaten while traveling?
I remember that during a trip to Israel I was pleasantly impressed by the typical breakfasts there. They were completely different from what we’re used to in Latin America or the USA. A mix of vegetables and Mediterranean ingredients that turns the meal into a truly gratifying experience. It begins with different preparations of fresh salads made with finely chopped vegetables and pickled items. Eggs, fresh cheeses, olives, tahini or hummus, unleavened bread, and of course, coffee. This kind of breakfast contrasts sharply with what we’re accustomed to in the West, where pork and the sweetness of fruit tend to dominate.
