When talking about my favorite apps on my phone, let’s set aside the ones I need for work—email, video conferencing, planners, messaging, AI tools, digital editing, and all those boring IT‑administration apps. Let’s also exclude the apps we rely on to function in this digital world, like camera controls, home automation, alarm systems, maps, navigation, delivery, rides, banking, and financial tools. And finally, let’s leave out the junk apps too, like social media and news platforms. Believe me, we don’t need those apps on our phones, yet they’re there because they’ve been building our addiction for the last 20 years. (Do yourselves a favor and disable notifications)

My favorite apps are the following:

• YouTube Music (Music, music, and more music)
• Play Books (My entire digital book collection)
• Duolingo (Practicing languages with AI)
• Headway (Daily book summaries)
• Jetpack (Blogging on WordPress)
• IMDB (Amazon’s database of movies and TV shows)
• Wikipedia (All the world’s information in the palm of your hand)

Every time I switch phones, these apps are non‑negotiable.
