Whatβs a moment in your life that made you feel truly alive?
Four years ago, I found myself in the deepest emotional pit I had ever experienced. At 46 years old, with a divorce behind me, two children beginning their university journeys, a successful career in IT, and no significant health or financial concerns, I still fell into a profound depression.
Despite having my family and friends by my side, I felt an overwhelming sense of loneliness. Everything seemed meaningless. I realized that something was missing from my life, something I had turned my back on for a very long time.
My lingering nihilism had begun to crumble, and I felt that I could no longer remain trapped in that spiritual void. Then, an intense light began to shine within me once again. I felt that God had reentered my life, the very God I had denied for so many years. I wep, not sorrow tears, but joyful.
From that moment forward, everything regained its meaning. I came to understand that what had been missing was a spiritual connection to something greater than ourselves, something that cannot be fully explained but can be deeply felt.
Today, God’s light illuminates every day of my life, and with each passing day, I feel more alive and stronger than ever. God truly lifted me out of that depression, and there is not a single day that passes without my gratitude for the privilege of being alive to experience it.
