What’s the best way to deal with negative thoughts?

I don’t know if it works for anyone else, but whenever I have negative thoughts, I breathe slowly and calmly for one minute, then I drink some water and offer a brief prayer. Whenever anxiety, depression, or stress seems to take over my day, these three simple actions help me clear my mind and see things more clearly. Daily exercise and proper rest also help a great deal, keeping both body and mind prepared to face negativity.
